Have you arrived…yet? I ponder over this question every time I take a short break and look back at how far I have come. And you know what? Failing to acknowledge how far I’ve come robs me of a lot of joy and a lot of pride. I may not have everything figured out in my life or business, but I know my team and I have come a long way. At Victor, we persevere.
Each endeavor we undertake demands and consumes full scope/ potential. Every project, every idea, every step. No stone unturned. To realize our dreams, we often cannot and do not play it safe or ready. We need to take risks for which one must develop trust within the organization. The kind of trust that creates a fearless mentality that is supportive, aligned and collaborative. A culture where failure is part of the innovation journey and where emotions are central to well-being and transformation. At Victor, we value relationships.
One of our greatest strengths and learning experiences are relationships, because we pay attention to our stake-holders. Attention sets the tone towards co-creating associations that pay out in terms of loyalty, advocacy and business in general. In individual relationships, it’s responsiveness that deepens our ties. Really listening to people’s stories, their wants, needs and aspirations can give you important clues for designing unforgettable experiences. As the great writer and poet, Maya Angelou, wrote: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” The success of any endeavor depends on the impact it made. At Victor, we impact.
Clearly, modern work isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s only when we prioritize, plan for, and prepare in advance that we will be able to reap the true benefits of what is in store. For example, have you thought of how virtual reality and the metaverse will change the workplace in 2023? News has it that businesses that failed to plan for the metaverse now will fall behind their competitors.
Companies that have not planned for technologies like VR and mixed reality (MR) will discover themselves at a long-term disadvantage compared to early adopters. Starting to prepare for 2023 now, means that we avoid finding ourselves at the year’s end scrambling to find a few minutes to focus on what we want to achieve personally and professionally next year. Aren’t you worth putting in a little time now so that your 2023 delivers in ways that are meaningful to you? At Victor we have worked around our intentions, goals and habits.
In my opinion, all three deserve time and attention in order for you to dream big, hit milestones and see success. With some planning and preparation, this is possible. Take some time to reflect on all you have accomplished this year, to dream big about your 2023, what you want it to look like and how you’ll get there. Here’s a thought I believe in. If you take steps in the direction of your destination every day and keep walking, no matter how slow or how far you must travel, you must one day arrive there.
